At Zion Harvester Lutheran School, we center our Christ-centered education on this mission: Ministering to families in Jesus' love while embracing, equipping, and enhancing each child's unique gifts for acts of service.
LIFE MINISTRIES
Grow in God's Word

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10

Adult Bible Study
We learn at all ages because following Jesus is a journey, not a destination. Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30am in the Church basement for our adult "Higher" Education Bible Class.
ACTS
Active Christians Through Study (ACTS) is a Bible class for senior citizens. This is a congenial group of Christians who have grown in their love and concern for each other through the study of the Word of God.
They meet weekly for Bible study and refreshments on Tuesdays at 9:30 AM.
Mens' Bible Study
Zion Men gather together to study God’s Word on the second and fourth Saturday mornings of each month. One outgrowth of this activity is service opportunities as requests come to the group to assist other ministries of the congregation or individuals in need.
A light breakfast is served at 7:30.
The study is from 8:00-9:00 am in the Family Life Center.
WORSHIP & MUSIC
Enrich Worship with Your Talents
Zion offers many opportunities for members to be involved in the Worship and Music Ministry area. Members with gifts in many areas of music, audio-visual talents, and the desire to provide the services which enhance our worship, are invited to join one or more of the many ministry teams available in this area.

Hospitality & Welcome Team Focus
Zion's Music Department brings joyful praise through choirs, ensembles, and clear audio-visual support for services in St. Charles.
Greeters
The Greeters’ Ministry is a group of members who offer a warm smile, a handshake, and directions when needed, to all who come to worship at regular and special services at Zion Lutheran Church.
Ushers
Ushers assist the Elders at worship in seeing that all services are conducted in a worshipful and orderly manner.
Support Ministries
Our Support Ministries form the essential foundation that keeps our campus thriving and our outreach strong. From caring for grounds and facilities to extending compassion through quilting and disaster response, these dedicated teams quietly serve behind the scenes, enabling our Christ-centered mission to flourish for the entire community.
Counting Teams
Zion is blessed to have two teams of volunteers who count financial contributions gathered during weekend, holiday, and special services.
The fund receives, manages, and distributes funding for Scholarship and Improvements.
Members of the team are interested in creating and completing projects which involve painting areas, designing displays, and decorating the church building outside of the sanctuary.
The goal of the Facilities Team is to provide care of the various buildings and grounds that serve Zion in her ministry efforts.
This team of members assists with the care of plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees on Zion’s Campus.
We bring the Church to people who cannot physically come to church.
The purpose of the Kitchen Team is to insure general upkeep and maintenance of the kitchen. Volunteers are needed throughout the year to assist the team in its efforts.
The Memorial Team solicits a list of needed items for our ministry at Zion and periodically publishes the list available for adoption by members.
The Quilters meet in the Discipleship Room on Tuesdays. Quilting pros as well as the inexperienced are welcome to join the group.
The Sausage Supper Team plans this event and coordinates the efforts of members who cook, serve, and administer the supper.
The Technology Team is a small group of volunteers who service and maintain Zion’s computer systems, website, and network. The team meets as needed.
LERT (Lutheran Early Response Team) enables volunteers to be received at disaster clean up sites. Prepares groups to be on a local team that stands prepared to respond when disasters happen and where victims of storm damage are in need of assistance. You must complete a certification course to join a team.
Children & Family Ministries
Our Children & Family Ministries nurture faith and strengthen bonds through Christ-centered programs like Sunday school, VBS, youth groups, and family events—equipping generations to grow spiritually and flourish in community.
Sprouts
Sprouts is a ministry group for children, ages birth to five years, and their caregivers. It is a great opportunity to meet and connect with other young families.
These classes focus on creating healthy spiritual habits from a young age specifically in the areas of family and personal devotions, prayer, and worship, by providing classes, tools, and resources for children and families.
Zion’s Baptism program is called S.H.E.L.L. Seekers (Showering Heaven’s Everlasting Light on Life). This is a one-time class for parents or caregivers interested in having their child baptized.
Vacation Bible School at Zion takes place every summer in June. Zion connects with children and families from our community to share the Gospel.
A team of Zion members gather every Tuesday at one of Bethlehem's 3 after school care locations to lead the children in Bible activities, dinner, and fun.
